Rob brings over 30 years of experience in investment management, spanning business development, client relations, portfolio management, and team leadership. At eCIO, he leads a team of skilled investment and technology professionals delivering cutting-edge solutions for institutional investors and financial services firms. In his role as an Investment Advisor, Rob shapes investment strategies, oversees client portfolios, and communicates directly with investors. He also chairs eCIO's Investment Committee.
Rob has held senior roles in major money management firms, consistently pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. His achievements include launching new products and markets, establishing new office locations, and managing P&L responsibilities. Prior to founding eCIO, he developed the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) practice at Madison Investments, focusing on larger nonprofit organizations. Previously, Rob co-founded and led the small-cap portfolio management team at Allegiant Asset Management, later acquired by PNC Bank. His first entrepreneurial venture involved establishing a regional pension consulting office in Chicago, later acquired by Empower Retirement.
Beyond his professional work, Rob is actively engaged in his community, serving on two nonprofit investment committees, including chairing the endowment/finance committee. He earned his BSBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Denver and an MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Rob also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Courtney brings over 25 years of experience in the investment management industry to her role as a Nonprofit Investment Advisor, developing investment strategies, managing portfolios, and working closely with investment committees and boards. She is an active member of the eCIO Investment Committee and also serves as Chief Revenue Officer, leading client acquisition and retention efforts.
Throughout her career, Courtney has held leadership roles in client management and business development, with extensive experience delivering tailored investment solutions for high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors. She co-founded NorthRoad Capital Management, an international and global equity investment firm, which was later acquired by Madison Investment Advisors, where she continued in senior business development and client service roles. Earlier in her career, she served as an investment specialist and sales manager at Lazard Asset Management.
Beyond her professional work with institutional investors, Courtney is committed to volunteering in her community. She serves on the board of the St. Louis Arc and contributes her expertise as a member of the Investment Committee for Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. She earned her BA from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance from NYU's Stern School of Business.
Phil brings over 15 years of investment experience, specializing in client acquisition, servicing, and investment management. With a strong background in serving nonprofit clients, he excels in asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment policy development, and accounting. At eCIO, Phil serves as an Investment Advisor, collaborating closely with nonprofits to design customized portfolios aligned with their goals, ESG preferences, portfolio needs, and risk tolerance. He also holds the role of Chief Compliance Officer and is an active member of the Investment Committee.
Before joining eCIO, Phil played a pivotal role in building and growing the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) practice at Madison Investments, focusing on larger nonprofit organizations. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the investment teams at Wells Capital Management, crafting strategic messaging for major client acquisitions. Phil's entrepreneurial journey began early, shaped by his family's successful restaurant business in Michigan.
Phil is deeply engaged in the Madison nonprofit community, serving as a board member of Family Service Madison and participating as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He holds dual B.S. degrees in Actuarial Science and Finance from Concordia University Wisconsin. Phil has earned the CIPM designation from the CFA Institute, is FINRA-registered, and was recognized in InBusiness Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2021.
Erica brings over 18 years of wealth management experience to eCIO, offering a client-focused approach that prioritizes strong relationships, efficient account management, and exceptional service.
She began her career at a leading broker-dealer, gaining a solid foundation in client service and financial management. Erica’s commitment to continuous learning and professional development ensures she stays well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Holding an Associate degree in Business Administration, Erica combines her academic background with extensive practical experience to provide clients with personalized support and strategic guidance. Tim brings over 20 years of experience in product development and marketing to his role as VP of Marketing at eCIO. He leads efforts to introduce prospective clients to eCIO's innovative investment solutions and technology capabilities while overseeing creative assets, content strategy, and the management of internal software systems.
Before joining eCIO, Tim served as a frontend developer at Sticky.io, where he focused on enhancing user experiences and later contributed to the product development team.

Clark brings over 20 years of experience in software development, IT, and technical operations, with more than 15 years as a technology executive and entrepreneur. At eCIO, he oversees investment management technology development and technical operations, ensuring seamless integration with best-in-class solutions to enhance eCIO's platform. He also plays a key role in fostering enterprise solution partnerships.
As a co-founder of eCIO alongside Rob, Clark has a proven track record of entrepreneurial success. He co-founded two venture-backed technology companies: PropertyBridge, which secured $2.2 million in Series A funding and was acquired by MoneyGram International for $28 million after just two years, and Marqeta, a fintech unicorn with over $500 million in funding and a valuation exceeding $10 billion. Additionally, Clark was an early employee and CIO at Financial Information Technologies, a payment and data solution provider in the regulated alcoholic beverage industry, where he helped secure private equity investments from TA Associates and Luminate Capital Partners, valuing the company at over $400 million.
Before eCIO, Clark served as Chief Technology Officer at sticky.io, a subscription billing platform for merchants and advertisers. A Certified Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner, he has led agile product development teams for over 12 years. Clark also holds several patents and patent-pending applications from his startup ventures and earned his degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Wade Wright has been contributing to the information technology and engineering field since 2013, gaining experience across a wide range of companies, from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 organizations. In roles such as Support Manager, Software Engineer, and Compliance Officer, he has worked in industries including eCommerce, internet service providers, automotive, and financial services.
Wade's expertise spans user interface and experience design, infrastructure, data service development in multiple programming languages, and quality assurance engineering. His primary focus is on creating scalable, maintainable solutions that enable both application and team growth in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Beyond his technical skills, Wade is deeply committed to fostering progress and development at both the individual and team levels.
A Tampa native, Wade is also a passionate fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Martin Coughlan, CFA, CAIA is the Founder of Acclinate LLC, which he established in 2019. After working in the investment management industry for over twenty years, Martin launched Acclinate to provide services and solutions to asset and wealth management firms in the areas of strategy, distribution, operational optimization, and technology.
Martin’s experience across the investment, distribution, operations, and business management functions provides him with a differentiated perspective on how the exponential change occurring in the investment industry will impact participants. Prior to starting his own business, he spent his career working in the U.S., Europe, and Asia for investment firms including Bank of Ireland Asset Management, Calamos Investments, Westwood Management, and Aegon Asset Management.
As part of his business, Martin sources, qualifies, and invests in asset and wealth management focused fintechs. He also provides advisory resources to these firms to facilitate their growth and capital needs.
Martin graduated with Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin, Ireland. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst CFA® charterholder, as well as a Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst CAIA® charterholder.
Byron L. Frenz is the founder of CW Technologies LLC which works with angel investors and venture capital firms to support business development of early stage companies. He is a partner in Wisconsin Investment Partners, an angel investment group. As a CPA and entrepreneur Byron provided tax and financial advisory services for companies active in medical services, import/export, and real estate development. He is a board member of several firms and the author of Strategic Risk Management for International Business Development. Byron received a BBA in Business Administration, a MS in Accounting and a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Alexander Goldstein is an Entrepreneur and Investor based in Chicago. Alexander is a founder and Chairman of Eligo Energy, LLC, an alternative energy retailer based in Chicago, where he served as CEO of Eligo since its founding in 2012 through mid-2017. Before starting Eligo Energy, Alexander co-founded a Pangea Properties and CashNetUSA, now Enova International. Enova today offers financial services in over 30 US states and 4 countries, employing over 500 people.
Alexander in an angel investor and advisor to over 30 startup businesses, focusing on technology, and application of technology to finance, energy, and health.
Alexander Goldstein holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is married and father to two young daughters.
Dave Quade is an entrepreneur and business manager. He served as president of Monroe Truck Equipment where he and two partners purchased a manufacturer and value-added distributor and grew it to a regional concern with $250 million in sales before selling to private equity.
His prior experience is as a CPA in public practice.
Dave holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife, Marian, live in the Madison area and have four adult children.
Jay is currently a partner at Zermatt Investors, LLC, a private partnership that invests in early stage companies. He retired in September, 2018 from Madison Investment Advisors where he was the Chief Investment Officer. Madison manages over $17 billion in assets for both institutional and individual accounts. While at Madison, Jay also was a member of the Board of Directors and served on the both the Investment Strategy Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee. Jay holds a BBA and MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin and graduated from the Applied Security Analysis Program. Jay serves or has served on numerous corporate and non-profit boards, including:
